Salvador ‘Chava’ Macias passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2021 after a short fight with cancer surrounded by all of his family and friends.
Chava was born on January 9, 1962 in Jalisco, Mexico to Gustavo Macias and Celia Villareal. He was a long time resident of Castroville, CA, 21 years, where he enjoyed farming and raising his chickens. He worked at Carmel Valley Manor as a custodian for over 35 years.
He is survived by his wife of over 38 years, Inosencia ‘Chelo’ Macias; his 3 daughter, Celia Macias, Christina Macias, and Lucia Chabarria; 3 brothers, Ignacio, Juan, and Mario; 4 sisters, Julia, Gregoria, Ana, and Patricia; 3 grandchildren, Daniel, Alisa and Luisito; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his son, Salvador ‘Chavito’ Macias.
A viewing will be held from 11a.m.-5p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Healey Mortruary, 405 N. Sanborn Road, Salinas, CA 93905.
A Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Sacred Heart Church at 9a.m., 22 Stone Street, Salinas, CA 93901.
Burial to follow mass at Queen of Heaven Cemetery at 18200 Damian Way, Prunedale, CA 93907.
