Obituary of Alejandra Soriano

Our beloved mom, grandma and grammy Alejandra Perido Soriano, 88, of Salinas, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at her home with her family by her side. Yanda was born February 17, 1927 in Alang Alang, Leyte, Philippines to Anatacia Perido and Pastor Anibal. After WWII she married Philipp Soriano on January 3rd, 1946. She and her family arrived in the US in 1959 and eventually made Salinas her home for the past 53 years where she was a member of many Filipino community organizations- Fil-Am Catholic, Pangasinan, Laogenian, Filipino Community of Monterey Peninsula, FPMDS and Madonna Del Sasso Church. Her passion was her devotion and love for her extended family which included making wonderful Filipino dishes and desserts for the many family gatherings. Yanda was preceded in her passing by her beloved husband Philipp. She is survived by her 7 children, Phillip (Evelyn), Linda (Rolando), Violeta (Jesus), Perfecto (Rosalinda), George (Gina), Doug (Kelly) and Ed (Jasmine). She is also leaves grandchildren, Steven (Lowell), Jamie (Juan), Kelly, Greg (Laura), Ronnie (Michelle), Jason, Rey (Gen), David, Jennifer (Jonathon), Nicholas (Kelly), Marissa, Ryan, Kyle and Lyndsie, along with great-grandchildren, Carson, Natalie, Alyssa, Sofia, Evan and Stella. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015 1-9pm with a Rosary vigil at 7pm, all at Healey Mortuary 405 N. Sanborn Rd. Salinas, CA 93905. Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 1pm at the Madonna del Sasso Catholic Church 320 E. Laurel Dr. Salinas, CA 93906. Burial to follow services at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery 18200 Damian Way Salinas, CA 93907.
