Obituary of Marcel Lemrise

In precious memory of Marcel Lemrise, 91, who died on Monday, October 8, 2007 in Salinas, California. Marcel was born to Albert and Blanche Lemrise of Providence, Rhode Island on November 30, 1915. He was the seventh born of fourteen children. The family moved to Chicago, Illinois. where he grew up and entered the Air Force at seventeen. His career in the United States Air Force lasted 27 years, which included tours in Korea, Panama, four years in Norway, and many years at Chanute AFB in Illinois. He retired and went to work for Aerospece Corp. in El Segundo, California for 20 years and then finally retired to Redding, California in 1980 and moved to Salinas, California in 1997, with his wife Helen to be close to their daughter, Therese Lemrise and grandchildren. Marcel was a very active member of the Knights of Columbus and VFW in Redding. He was a good father who provided generously for his family and was devoted to his faith, which was his strength. Marcel was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Helen Eleanor who died on January 14, 2003, his parents, two sisters and seven brothers. Marcel is survived by Daughters Blanche (Charley) LaFontaine Therese Lemrise Helen (Ted) Leonte Sons Marcel (Georgette) Lemrise Louis (Ellen) Lemrise Sisters Therese (Bob) Plenner Cecile (Paul) Seymour Brothers Aubert (Cecile) Lemrise Paul (Dolores) Lemrise grandchildren Marie Wilder, John and Robert Alegria, Mark, Paul and Kurt Lemrise, Helen Bryant, Joe Torres, Rebekah Pompey, Abigail Aguirre, Grace Rubio and Kai Lemrise. great-grandchildren Jonathan and David Alegria, Robert and Kate Wilder, Daniel, Alyssa and Isaac Rubio, Alexandra and Tabitha Pompey, Justus Bryant and Naomi Torres.
