Obituary of Santos Nava

Santos A. Nava, of Salinas, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at the age of 100. He was born Nov. 1, 1912 in Nazas, Durango, Mx., to Roberto Nava and Fabiana Astorga de Nava. Santos married Maria Michel in 1938. Their marriage was blessed with 15 children. Mr. Nava was a member of the Apostolic Assembly Church for eighty years part of which he served as an ordained minister and musician. His Passions were evangelizing and playing his guitar. Santos rejoiced in seeing his family together, he will be remembered as a kind, funny, quiet, gentle and loving husband, father, grandpa, great-grand pa and great-great-grand pa who loved the Lord. He is preceded in death by: Maria M. Nava (wife) , eight of his children, and all of his siblings, Nicolasa, Modesto, Miguel, Roberta, José, Margarito, Francisca, Jesus, José Antonio, Alfonso and Alejandro. He is survived by his Daughters, Raquel Nava, Rodha Chavarria, Ruth (Ray) Santos, all of Salinas. Esperanza Valenzuela, from El Paso, TX, Sons, Josué (Josephine) Nava, Woodburn, OR, Misael (Elvira) Nava, N.MX, Ruben Nava and Phillip (Carmen) Nava, of Salinas. Tata is also survived by 30 grandchildren, 78 great grand-children, and 28 great great-grand children. Leaving a legacy of Gods Love and Faithfulness to them all. An Evening Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at 6pm at the Apostlic Praise Temple 1104 Fontes Lane Salinas, CA 93907. Funeral Services will take place on Thursday, December 27, 2012 11am at the Church. Burial to follow services at the Garden of Memories Cemetery 850 Abbott St. Salinas, CA 93901.
