Martha Pacheco 75 of Salinas passed away peacefully Saturday January 12, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born on July 29, 1943 in Chular, Ca & lived in Salinas for the last 30 years. She graduated from Palma High School in 1961. She also graduated beauty school at Wayne’s Beauty College in Salinas & Hartnell College where she transferred & attended San Jose State University. While living in San Jose she completed CET in 1986.
Martha was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and friend. She adored and loved her grandchildren. She enjoyed going to BINGO and playing lotteria with her friends.
She held many jobs but nothing like becoming a crisis counselor for South County Alternatives in Morgan Hill & in Gilroy from 1987-1989. In 1998 she moved back to Salinas with her children to take care of her parents .She’s worked for the United Farm Workers who was hired by Cesar Chavez to help the workers organize their immigration papers but shortly after she started working for CHISPA, Inc. where she worked for a few years. Following her stent at CHISPA she worked for the First Baptist Church as a receptionist. In 1995 she retired and lived each day to the fullest.
She will join her parents Guadalupe A. Medina, Guillermo Medina her brothers Guillermo “Memo” Medina, Manuel Medina, Ricky Solis, Sisters Margaret M. Sanchez, Josephine M. Herrera.
Survived by her sons Adrian T. Cordova, Federico Pacheco, Crisanto and Marcela Pacheco, and daughter Ramona P. Pacheco. She adored and loved her grandchildren Alexis, Xzavier, Desire, Cris Jr., and Isabella. Her brothers Vincent Medina, Alex and Margaret Medina, Sisters, MaryAnn Yost, Carmen Solis, and Patty Lial.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated, Thursday, 1/24/2019 at 1:00 PM at Madonna Del Sasso Church, 320 E. Laurel Dr., Salinas, CA followed by an Inurnment at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 18200 Damian Way, Salinas, CA
