Obituary of Ronald Leland Johnson

Ronald Leland Johnson, age 76, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, January 20, 2019. Ron was born in Santa Rosa to Mary Josephine Cucchi. He spent his childhood in Renton, WA, then spent several years in Lompoc, CA where he made many lifelong friends. He also lived in San Francisco with his aunt before settling down in Salinas, CA with Geri. They had two children before separating in 1992. He also began his own company in Salinas, Truck Safety Equipment, which he ran for 25 years. When he wasn’t at work or spending time with his Children.

You could find him at Westside Baptist Church, where many lovingly knew him as “Moses”. He enjoyed being an usher, adult Sunday school teacher, money counter, and would help out anywhere he was needed. He was a loving and dedicated father and grandfather. He was a dependable friend to many, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his daughter, Brittany Celaya, of Salinas, son, Nicholas Johnson, of Los Angeles, and two grandsons, Giovanni and Lorenzo Celaya.

Visitation will be held on Wed. Jan. 30, 2019 1-9pm with a Funeral Service at 2pm, all at Healey Mortuary 405 N. Sanborn Rd. Salinas, CA  93905.
