Obituary of Rosario "Charing" Uganiza

Rosario Ugale Uganiza, 87 passed away Monday, March 11, 2019, in Salinas, CA. Rosario was born in Ilocos Sur, Philippines on July 4, 1931. She came to the United States in 1969 and has lived in Salinas for the past 50 years. Rosario worked in the harvest fields and sheds of Salinas. She was a devoted Catholic, dedicated sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She has always been the core of the family—raising generation after generation—and will forever be our “Mamang”.

Rosario is survived by her husband, Florencio Uganiza, her eight children, Cirilo Uganiza, Bill Uganiza, Regino Uganiza, Juanita U. Peralta, Manuel Uganiza, Caroline U. Viado, Rodel Uganiza, and Reynaldo Uganiza; her eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, sons & daughters-in-law, and numerous cousins, second-cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2019, from 1:00 pm-9:00 pm with a rosary prayer at 6:00 pm in Healey Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service will be on Monday, March 18 at 9:30 am at Sacred Heart Church, with the burial to follow at Queen of Heaven.
