Priscilla Lenius

Obituary of Priscilla Hamilton Lenius

Priscilla Hamilton Lenius was born April 27,1934 in Boston, MA, grew up mostly in Mill Valley, CA and moved to Salinas in 1955.

She is survived by her dear younger sister, Kathy; her four children and their spouses, Tom (Jenny), Carolyn (John), Susan (Glenn) and Paul (Ming); nine grandchildren, Dustin, Tessa, Geoffrey, Alexandra, Gabriel, Tristan, Emily, Kayne and Kanyada; nieces and nephews and their families; and many friends.

She was preceded in death last year by her beloved older sister, Marilyn.

Our mother cherished her grandchildren and was proud of each one and their uniquenesses. She faced many ups-and-downs throughout her life beginning with the early death of her father and in her later years endured health challenges that would defeat many of us but she bounced back and thrived. She will be missed for her wonderful cooking and recipes, birthday and holiday gatherings, raising eccentric dogs, hours spent playing cards, cribbage and doing crossword puzzles, reading, shopping, going to the movies, and her friendly presence.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and regularly sought comfort in prayer and communion. While at Windsor Gardens, she made many friends and would want us to acknowledge their kindness and care. She would also want us to acknowledge her friendship of many years with her dear friend, Diane.

A memorial will be held later in early 2020. Please donate in her memory to charities supporting those in need and less fortunate. The family thanks Windsor Gardens and Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital for their care and support.
