Thank you to all who have sent cards, texts, calls, emails, flowers, donations, gifts and countless words of encouragement and prayer!
We miss our Dad / Papa / Husband, but are so grateful to our heavenly Father that he did not have to suffer long!

I will miss Julian coming in to give Minnie food. His wife Minnie has volunteered for the American Cancer Society for 10 plus years! When she would volunteer in the office, Julian would come in and bring her lunch. Julian volunteered at the American Cancer Society as well for some time. He used to do our Safety Inspections for our office and the two Discovery Shops in Pacific Grove and Salinas. I would go with him at times and we would stop and have lunch. He was full of interesting stories. I remember sitting across from him thinking he was a very interesting and an intelligent man. He would play Christian music in his car and I would love to hear it. Julian, I will make sure Minnie has her lunch when she is here in the office volunteering. God bless you. I know you are now with God and Minnie has an extra angel looking down on her and taking care of her.
God bless Minnie and the family,
Vicki Young from the American Cancer Society

I'm sorry to hear of Julian's passing. He was such a kind and caring man. I remember him, and the entire Flores family, helping my grandparents when needed. I also have fond memories of growing up across the street from the Flores Family. I often visited and was always welcomed at the Flores home. I also remember going to Alisal High in the morning and seeing Julian jogging along Williams Road and giving me and my grandmother a wave hello. Julian and my aunt Linda were the only two regular joggers in East Salinas, which we all know was not commonly seen in our neighborhood and something the Votaws often talked about. Julian also stepped in for our family during times of loss and was a pallbearer. We will always be grateful for his kindness and care during those times. He will be missed, but remain in our memories.
I'm sorry I cannot attend the services. I will make a donation in Julian's honor to the American Cancer Society. I will also keep you all in my thought and prayers. I pray that God gives you peace and comfort during this difficult time.

Words cannot express the heartfelt loss you must be feeling now. My heart goes out to Minnie and the girls. It was a privilege growing up across the street from Julian and his family. The weren't just good neighbors, they were family. I hope and pray that you find comfort in all the good memories of Julian. I remember that after I joined the Army, that every time I came home to visit Julian would always ask me how "sad sack" was doing. It wasn't until later that I found out that Sad Sack was a comic strip based on Army life.
Although I won't be able to attend the services, I will be there in spirit and I will make a donation in his name to the American Cancer Society. May God bless his family and provide them comfort at this time of sorrow.
