Obituary of Irvin Leon Banks

Irvin Leon Banks was born June 24,1929 to his parents Leroy and Viola Banks. He is survived by his son Kevin and daughter in law DeAnna Armstead, and his brother Willie (Banks) Christmas.

Irvin is preceeded in death by his wife, Callie Willie Cooper Armstead Banks, his sisters Berniece (Banks) Mosely, Jeanne (Banks) Calvin, Jacqueline (Banks) Lorne, Caludette (Banks) Holmes, Viola (Banks) Sneade and brothers Leroy Banks, and Joseph Banks.

Irvin was born to a Baptist Minister family.  He worked in tobacco and later after meeting his wife, Callie worked as an orderly and as a private duty caregiver with his wife who was private duty RN.  He and his wife enjoyed going to Salinas Valley Community Church and helping & participating with Church Outreach Programs.  They were one of the first church members to join when Salinas Valley Community Church first opened.  They also enjoyed traveling and listening to the golden oldies and Motown Music.  Irvin and Callie Banks are survived by their son, Kevin Armstead and daughter-in-law, DeAnna Armstead, of the Monterey Peninsula.

Per Mr. Banks request, no services will be held.

In lieu of cards and flowers, the family asks for donations in Memory of Irvin Banks be made to Salinas Valley Community Church Outreach Program that help serves locally community programs and global programs or the Alzheimer's Association of Monterey County.
