Obituary of San Juana Marquez de la Torre

San Juana Marquez de la Torre passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on January 13,2020 at the age of 77. She was born in San Juan de Los Lagos, Jalisco Mexico to Manuel Marquez and Maria de la Torre. Later in her life she moved to Salinas, California with her husband. She is survived by her husband Jose de Jesus and five children; Rogelia(Gerardo), Marta(Carlos), Martina(Jose), Juan Jose(Iliana) and Angelica(Fernando). She left behind 20 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. San Juana is survived by her siblings; Petra, Jose, Eulalia, and Guadalupe.

She was a devoted Catholic, mother, and wife. One of her favorite things to do was cook for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, “¡me quedo bien buena mi sopa!” Aside from cooking she enjoyed sewing, tending to her garden, and filling out crossword puzzles. She always gave more without hesitation. Her love was unconditional. San Juana would sing,”por tu amor, por tu amor.”

The family would like to use her favorite blessing in return to her “Jesús, maría, y josé te acompañe. ”

Visitation will be held Monday, January 20, 2020 from 1-9 PM at the Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Rd., Salinas, Ca 93905
Her Rosary will be Monday at 7:00 PM in the Mortuary Chapel.
Funeral Services will be held January 21, 2020 at 10AM at St. Marys Church 424 Towt St. Salinas, Ca 93905
Burial will follow at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 18200 Damian Way,  Salinas, CA 93907
