Obituary of Jesus M. Barragan

Jesus Barragan, our dear father, one of the kindest, most considerate and all around loving man, passed away peacefully on December 7th. Jesus was born in Cotija, Michoacán, Mexico to Felipe and Soledad Mendoza Barragan. 

He came to the United States under the Bracero Program at an early age.  Soon after, he became a citizen and made his home in Salinas.  He worked for Pet Milk and Foremost Dairy plants. Most of his life he was self employed as a handyman.  He could fix anything and was such a hard worker until his early eighties. 

He is survived by his daughters, Christina (Nick) Valdez, Sandra (Jesse) Rivas and son, Richard (Luann), numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Helen,, daughter, Maria Elena and son, David.  He was preceded in death by his 2nd wife, Ana and survived by her children, James, Gloria and Anthony. 

Jesus was a life long resident of Salinas and life long member of St. Mary of the Nativity Church. Our family would like to thank Dr. Kumar and Hospice VNA for their wonderful care.  He will remain forever in our hearts. 

Private services will be held. Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
