Obituary of Marcelo Cruz

Marcelo Reyes Cruz, 60, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, December 12, 2020.

Marcelo was born January 16, 1960 in Oaxaca, Mexico and grew up in Vera Cruz, Mexico.  He came to settle in Salinas, California, where he met the love of his life Sandra Burruel, and made her two sons his own. He was a dryer operator at Taylor Farms for 13 years. Marcelo loved spending time with family and loved ones. He spent many family parties and Saturday nights BBQing and cooking chicken in “el disco”.  He never hesitated to help anyone who needed it.  His children were his world, especially his grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Papa Coo”. He was also a loving “Tio” to many nieces and nephews.

Marcelo is united in eternity with his Loving wife Sandra, as well as many loved ones. He is survived by his sons Gabriel (Heather) of Salinas, Julian (Heaven) of Saint Paul, Marcelo (Leslie) of Saint Paul and daughter Felisa (Roger) of Salinas,  8 grandsons, 3 granddaugters, numerous nephews, nieces and loved ones.

A celebration of Marcelo’s life is being planned for January 16, 2021.  More details to follow.
