Ozelma Epps

Obituary of Ozelma Marie Epps

Ozelma “Tink” Epps, also known to many as Nanny, 93, of Prunedale, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021.  She was born April 8, 1927 in Danville, Arkansas and lived there until she moved to Guadalupe, CA in 1944, where she met her husband.  They were married in 1945 and moved to Salinas in 1946 and had been married for 66 years before his passing in 2011.

They followed the produce between Salinas and El Centro, and she worked in the produce sheds for many years until their retirements in 1978.  At that time, they started selling tools at the Red Barn Flea Market on the weekends and she loved every minute of it; meeting all the people and making new friends.  She was always there for her family and anyone that needed her, and she treated everyone as if they were her best friend.  She loved her family very much and loved seeing them and spending time with all of them and she really loved travelling to see her family in and out of state as much as she could.  In her younger years they owned a mink farm and raised and sold mink, owned and operated a roping arena and her favorite hobbies were raising and selling geraniums, camping and fishing.

Ozelma is survived by her Daughter, Darlene (Pat) Fitzgerald.  Her Grandchildren, Tami Martin, Chester Dee (Prissy) Martin, Tifanie (Justin) Norton, Debbie Epps and Marsha (Kelly) Gularte. Her Great Grandchildren, Krista (Justin) Estassi, Miranda (Jordan) Camara, Cherrise Martin, Brittany (Daniel) Botelho, Bryanna Martin, Shaley Duplissie, Amber (Ryan) DeVore and Garrett Norton.  Along with 9 Great-Great Grandchildren.
