Obituary of Amadee Ortiz-Febo

Amadee passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at home. 

He was born in Coamo, Puerto Rico and joined the U.S. Army in 1951. He served 35 years with two tours of duty in both the Korean War and Vietnam War. He and made Salinas his permanent home after his retirement in 1976.

Amadee will be remembered by all who knew him as a jovial, friendly man who was always singing and dancing. He treated everyone he met as a friend and never turned a blind eye when someone was in need.  He loved to travel and did so with his family and friends up until he was no longer able to.

He is survived by the love of his life, Gloria, who he met when they were teenagers and were married for over 68 years.  He is also survived by his son Amedee and daughter Margaret. He will be joining his younger daughter Cindy who passed away in 1996.

Visitation is Tuesday, April 27, from 1-5 p.m. at Healey Mortuary, and the rosary will be held at 3 p.m. A chapel blessing will be held Wednesday, April 28, at 10 a.m. at Healey Mortuary.

Burial to follow at San Carlos Cemetery 729 Fremont St. Monterey, CA 93940.
