Obituary of Mona Lisa Rodriguez

Mona Lisa Rodriguez went peacefully to her Lord after a long illness surrounded by her family on April 23rd 2021. Mona Lisa was born in Salinas to parents Sylvia Nunez Cardona of Salinas & Rene Cardona of Castroville, CA.  Mona Lisa was gifted with a wonderful sense of humor that was only outmatched by her smiles. She had no filter keeping it real and always remained solid. She would go above and beyond for the people she loved. If you know her then "You know!"

Mona Lisa is survived by her husband of 32 years, Jaime Rodriguez of Salinas, her children; Francesca, Alicia, Jaime Rodriguez Jr. all of Salinas; Father Rene Cardona, sister Diana Cardona of Salinas and brother Simon Rivera Jr. of Salinas & siblings, Rene Cardona Jr., Johnny Cardona, Renee Cardona, Raquel Cardona and Rachelle Cardona of Castroville.  Mona Lisa is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins from Salinas/Castroville areas and her paternal grandmother, Margarita Gonzales Cardona.

While Mona Lisa was forced to stop work due to her failing health, she had worked various jobs around the Monterey/Salinas area.  Jobs ranging from Best Western Plus to the Department of Defense.  Her favorite job was taking care of her grandchildren.

Mona Lisa was preceded in death by her mother, Sylvia Nunez Cardona; maternal grandparents, Carmen & Ralph Ceballos of Salinas; paternal grandfather, Frank Cardona of Castroville; uncles, aunts, cousins and many extended family were her guiding light for her ascendance to heaven.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday May 15th at Healey Mortuary Chapel beginning at 11am.
