Obituary of Johnny Espinoza Espiritu

Johnny E. Espiritu, also known as Bimbo, was born in Salinas, California, in 1947. He cherished time spent with his friends and family, especially his brothers Rudy and Benny. He loved his time with Lucy Espiritu, his mother. Johnny was a loving son, husband and father. He loved to watch sports and attend football games at Salinas High School and Hartnell College. He enjoyed travelling to Reno and playing poker with his father Marcelo, and he thrived at word puzzles. On Sundays, he liked to eat at Shangs, a local breakfast place, and read the newspaper over a cup of coffee. Johnny's favorite thing to do was to listen to sports radio in his car while watching his grandchildren play outside. Johnny had many people who adored him. He was an incredible man who had a big heart and always made sure his family was happy and taken care of. He was 74 when he passed on August 26, 2021.

 

He is survived by his two brothers, Rudy Espiritu and Benny Espiritu, his wife, Maggie, and his children, Johnny Espiritu Jr., Marcela Espiritu, Ruby Hernandez, Elaine Alonzo, Angel Valdez and Robert Valdez, as well as his grandchildren,Violet Bravo, Raul Hernandez, Gisele Espiritu, Davina Espiritu, Stephanie Espiritu, Arianny Espiritu, Jonathan Espiritu, Kimberly Espiritu, Aria, Briella and Milah Valdez.

Visitation will be held, Wednesday, September 1, 2021 from 1-5pm. at the Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Rd., Salinas, CA.

 

A Funeral Service will begin at the Mortuary Chapel, Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 10:00 AM.
