9yrs Ago I was blessed to come into Enedinas Life She welcomed me into her home with kind words and open arms She allowed me to call her Nana it Meant a lot to me since I don’t have any living grandparents I told her about my life and she told me about hers she shared her special memories with me and shared with her mine she never judged me she always seem to care she was always happy to see me and her grandson Lencho I always brought her concha’s her favorite Mexican bread she loved her chicken sandwiches from Dairy Queen she ate with us and told me her latest gossip on the novelas we didn’t care they where reruns we still sat there and gossip about the people in it..there was times where I really needed a shoulder to cry on and she was Always there Even when we where far she was a phone call away she always picked up my calls and talked to me for hours she was always there to hear me out she became a real Nana to me The day I came to tell her I was expecting a baby she was happy as can be made me promise to bring her and so I did i remember her holding my daughter and telling her stories as she grew she spoiled her with candies and concha’s and all the oranges from her back yard soon after my son came and she was the same way to him I thank her for always taking the time to spoil them and let them play with her knickknacks.. I remember little choco her dog always by her side and always happy to see me never saw me as a threat to her Nana loved that Her birds always chirping happy to for her to uncover them to get some sun… I have a million memories to share and I’ll pass them all to my children her great grandchildren it pains me that she had to go before my new baby is here but I know she is in heaven watching over them all thank you Nana for the woman that you where you showed me patience and understanding thank you for the memories thank you for the food and for all the photo albums we put together thank you for always being you I love you always -Shaira
Enedina Garcia who was married to Lorenzo Garcia Came from La Manzanilla Jalisco in the late 1950’s To work Agricultural a few years later she became a widow she then moved to Salinas Ca and worked at Cel A Pack. In the 80’s She adopted 2 of her grandchildren who are Me and my brother who ended up giving her the nick name NANA we where raised up in a beautiful giving home we watched Nana open her doors to all her grandkids every holiday specially Christmas. Enedina Garcia made sure that every time during dinner her doors where open to all her children and grandchildren she made sure there was always plenty for everyone to share. The best memories of my nana is remembering her making her home made cheese and telling us when she was a child in Mexico she would make cheese to sell at the plaza Nana's most famous dishes was her adobo/Filipino style Her tacos De canasta Her Capirotada and her tamales And Her salsa. Some Hobby’s I remember where her collection of family photos her Knickknacks and plants she enjoyed doing her yard work,watching her novelas with her coffee and concha’s. The most precious memories I will keep with me are her long talks her sharing her wisdom explaining to me the golden rules of life I will forever keep them rooted in me I will always keep her memories and smiles with me I thank her for being a mother and father to me and my brother and to all her grandchildren. She was a great counselor and great listener she showed me what perseverance was. Me and my wife will always keep her in our family memories we’ll pass all her wisdom and her words to our children in hopes that they too will cary her memories on -The Flores Family
