Laura Lee (Farrar) Kish
July 20, 1957 - June 26, 2022 

On Sunday, June 26, 2022, Laura Lee Kish passed away - very unexpectedly - at her home in Salinas, CA. 

Laura was born July 20, 1957, to Joanne A. (Farrar) Lewis and Lane L. Farrar, at the Old Nevada County Hospital in Nevada City, CA. She was the fourth of six children.  

 Laura was raised in Nevada and Placer Counties, in Northern Ca. As an adult, she considered there, as well as Redding and the Monterey Peninsula, home. There were a few adventures in other areas, but she always came back to one of the three.   

She was quick to introduce herself to new people, and any time you saw her, you were guaranteed to hear one or probably five stories!! One of them would have to do with her two daughters, and how proud she was of them.  

She made friends, some of whom became extended family, everywhere she went. And she definitely left a lasting impression.   

Laura was always there to help others along the way - if they needed a ride, a bite to eat, a place to rest, someone to talk or vent to, and especially if they just needed some “Mom Advice”. It was no surprise that her last 10 years before retiring was as an in-home care provider. 

Laura was preceded in death by her father, Lane Farrar; her older brothers, Michael Chaplin and Kurt Farrar; and her younger brother, David Farrar.  She is survived by her mother, Joanne Lewis; older brother, Bob Farrar (Janice Farrar); younger sister Loretta Wells (Jerry Wells); two daughters, Tyisha Smith and Jaclyn Turner (Matt Turner); two grandsons, Jayden Davis and DJ Goins; numerous nieces and nephews; and the other half of her heart - Clarence Esteen, Sr.  

Please join us as we celebrate Laura’s life with great stories, family, friends, and a small lunch.
