Obituary of Dian Fulton Chackalack

Dian Fulton Chackalack, 78, passed away on August 11, 2022 at her home in Marina, CA.  She was born in NYC, NY on October 24, 1943 and lived in Long Branch and Little Silver, NJ.  She graduated from Red Bank High School in 1961 and Montclair University in 1965 where she received her teaching degree.  Dian moved to CA in 1965 and married John Chackalack.  She taught at Fitch Junior High School on the former Fort Ord and Martin Luther King Middle School in Seaside for over 30 years.

Dian is predeceased by her husband John, her mother and step father, Isobel and John O’Connor, her brother Joseph O’Connor, her father and step mother, Mahlon and Jeanne Fulton.  She is survived by her sister Judy Coppetti and husband Gary of Salinas, her niece Kerri Edmond of Sacramento, her niece Sara Velez, husband Jose and grand nieces Aaliyah and Ava of Sacramento.  She is also survived by her step sister Sandra Munson, cousin Wayne Johnson and extended family in NJ.

May you rest in peace Dian, know you are loved and will be dearly missed by family, friends and your special cat Charlie.

Arrangements are under the direction of Healey Mortuary in Salinas.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be made to the SPCA or the donor’s favorite charity.
