Obituary of Mary Louise Oliverez

Mary Louise Oliverez, 64, of Salinas, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022. She was born June 25, 1958.

A smart, brave, strong woman of immense faith, Mary was above all else a loving mother and grandmother.  She was an accomplished cook, who turned food into an artform and often showed her love through a delicious home cooked meal. She had a creative mind and a keen eye for decoration.  She was funny, sweet and always thoughtful, but also enjoyed an afternoon of true crime mystery.  Mary’s favorite pastime in the world was to dote on her grandchildren.

Mary graduated from Hartnell College and worked a varied career, most notably as a paralegal and then as a paraeducator, where she brought her kindness and compassion into the lives of many students in need. 

Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Josephine, father Steve, grandmother Petra, sister Evelyn, daughter Josephine and granddaughter Tallulah. She is survived by her daughters, Dorothy (Bernard), Elizabeth (Norman), and Stephanie, her grandchildren, Pepper, Jojo, Wolfgang and Betsey, Jon, David, Emma, Jarod and Piper. She is also survived by her sister Lydia and brothers Paul and John, along with too many other loved ones to count. 

We will miss her forever, but trust that she will always be watching over us, to guide and protect us as she always has. 

Service: A memorial service will be held at Healey Mortuary on Saturday, October 8th at 3:00 pm.
