Obituary of Eustaquio"Taco" V. Cervantes

Eustaquio "Taco" V. Cervantes, 95, of Salinas, California, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his family.


Eustaquio was born on September 20, 1927 in Skidmore, Texas to Federico and Maria Cervantes. He lived in the small town of Edcouch, Texas, from 1938 to 1967.  He attended Edcouch Elementary in Edcouch.  He moved to Salinas, California in 1967.  He worked as a truck driver for A and F Harvesting for many years.  He had a strong work ethic.  He was a member of the Teamsters Union in Salinas, California.  His love and devotion to family was evident to everyone who knew him.  Especially his family.


He is survived by his children:  Maria Linda Flores (Jesse d.), Angelita Pena, Ida Ramos (Felipe), Eustaquio Jr. (Lydia), Hilda Nazario (Domingo), Macario Cervantes, Christina Garcia (Michael), his son in law, Arnulfo Trevino, 20 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.


He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Agustina L. Cervantes, his parents, Federico and Maria Cervantes, his daughter, Sylvia Trevino, all his siblings: Inocencio Cervantes, Concepcion Ramirez, Santos Servantes, Gregoria Ramirez, Tomasa Bernal, and Juanita Cruz; his grandchildren Arnulfo Trevino Jr., Eustaquio Angel Cervantes III, Kevin Pena, Faustino Flores, and Rebecca Trevino. 

Viewing will be held on Wed., December 28, 2022 from 1pm to 4pm with a Rosary from 4pm to 5pm at Healey Mortuary, 405 North Sanborn Rd., Salinas, Ca 93905.
His Funeral Mass will take place Thurs., December 29, 2022 at Madonna Del Sasso Catholic Church at 10am, 320 E Laurel Dr., Salinas, Ca 93906. (831) 422-5323.  Burial after the mass will be at Garden of Memories Memorial Park, 850 Abbott St., Salinas, Ca.  93901.
