Obituary of Robert E. Taber

Robert E. “Bob” Taber, 79, a longtime resident of Salinas, passed away at home on December 24, 2022 surrounded by those that loved him.

He was born on May 13, 1943 in Burley, ID to Robert W. Taber and Thelma (Anderson) Taber.

Robert was employed by Moyer Chemical Company, Suburban Propane, and Coast Gas.

Robert was well known for his involvement in FFA, Continental Little League, AMA District 36, NASCAR with the McCoun Family, and the California Rodeo Salinas horse parade. Those who knew him well knew his horses (Rocky, Sadie, Stormy, Jimmy) were his greatest joy.

Robert is survived by his daughter Traci Taber, son Bryan Taber, and granddaughter Ashlee Taber. His sisters Sandra (Ron) Bessette, Connie (Stan) Hughes, his brothers Ken (Sue) Taber, Kevan (Brenda) Taber, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Linda Rumbaugh.

As per Robert’s wishes, a heartfelt Thank You to all the staff at Bridge Hospice, especially his favorite caregiver Lupe.

Arrangements are entrusted to Healey Mortuary. No services will be held. A private entombment has taken place at the Garden of Memories.

Rest in peace Dad, Papa. You will always be remembered as a big part of our Taber family history, leaving a wonderful legacy behind.
