Obituary of Raymond Austin

Ray Austin, 85 passed away peacefully on March 28th, 2023, in his home, surrounded by his family. Ray was born February 25, 1938, in Corcoran, Ca to George and Frances “Kika” Austin. He attended Corcoran High School. After graduation, he joined the Air Force at the age of 17. From the air force, he relocated to Monterey, Ca. Ray was a bartender at Bradley’s and Kings Den. And later, he worked in the mail room at HSBC. Throughout his working years, he met many people who became long-life friends.

In 1994, he married the love of his life Irene. They spent 28 memorable years together and loved festivals, trips to the casinos and taking their grandchildren camping. They were both an avid San Francisco Giants fans and took many trips to Arizona for spring training.

He was a diehard San Francisco 49er’s Fan. Ray was notorious for his BBQ skills. He coached little league and pop warner football. He was an outgoing person who loved meeting new people and made friends wherever he went. Ray was well known within his community.

Ray will be missed deeply by his wife Irene and his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Irene. His children Janet Austin Monteon, Tina (Reuben) Damasco, Denise (Craig) Lorick, Chris (Rosa) Austin, Santos (Bertha) Estigoy, and Shawn (Marina) Estigoy. He was blessed with 21 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He is proceeded by his parents George and Kika Austin, his sister Vicky Duran and his grandchildren Krisinda and Christian Austin.
