Obituary of David Villanueva Hernandez

David was born in Salinas, CA on May 9, 1943 to Gilbert and Lilly Hernandez.   He grew up in Salinas and graduated from Salinas High School.  David was also a Veteran of the US Navy where he served during the Vietnam war.  After completing his military service, he attended Hartnell College and majored in Sociology.  David worked for the Department of Social Services, US Post Office and Schillings McCormick where he retired. 

David is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Gloria Gonzalez. 

David is survived by his two children Marlene Hernandez and David Hernandez Jr.  His grandchildren Richard Tapia Jr., Justin Tapia and Drina Hernandez.  His siblings Gilbert Hernandez, Rachel Varela, Connie Mendoza, Edward Hernandez and Margaret Suarez

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. 

A Funeral Mass will take place on Monday April 24th at 1:30pm at Sacred Heart Church followed by visitation at Healey Mortuary Chapel from 3pm-6pm.  His burial with Military Honors will be Tuesday, April 25th at 11am at California Central Coast Veterans Cemetery in Seaside, California.
