Obituary of Ramon R. Ceballos

Ramon R. Ceballos, age 90, passed peacefully at his home following a short illness.  Ramon had been under the constant care of his beloved children and grandchildren.

Dad came to Salinas and worked primarily for Merrill Farms until his retirement in 1993.  For Ramon's dedication and superb detailed attention to the asaparagus crops outside Soledad (Los Coches Ranch), the company sent dad and mom to Hawaii.  Ramon had many hobbies but one passion: gardening.  You could find dad in the mornings enjoying his first cup of coffee, looking over his gardens until late at night.  Casinos were another fun hobby for dad, as well as traveling to Arizona to visit his daughter and her family.

Ramon is survived by his sons, Rudy Ceballos, Raymond Ceballos and wife Belinda; his daughters, Lidia Ceballos and husband Benny Espiritu, and Elaine Moreno and husband Manuel.  He was blessed with 18 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.  Ramon was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Tillie Ceballos, his son Mario Ceballos, and his stepchildren: Patsy Aguilera, Richard Gauna, and Bill Felice.

"When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure."  Dad left us with a lifetime of wonderful memories which we will always treasure.  Dad will be missed.  

Visitation will be 9:00 am until 1:00 pm, Monday, May 22, 2023 at Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Road in Salinas.  A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm at the mortuary, with interment services at Garden of Memories Cemetery immediately following.
