Obituary of Lois May Chavis

Our beloved mother, Lois May (Shaw) Chavis, passed away on Sunday October 22, 2023, in Salinas, CA, one month before her 99^th birthday. 

She is survived by her children, Larry (Gail) Shaw, Nancy Hays, Harley Shaw, Kathy (Norm) Bobcynski and Cary (Cathy) Shaw.  18 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren also survive her.

Mrs. Chavis was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Frada Melton, a brother Paul Melton, her daughter and son-in-law Cherlyn Frazier and Greg Frazier, and 2 grandsons John Hopkins and Harley Shaw II.

A visitation for friends and family will be held Monday, October 30, 2023 from 12:00 noon until 5:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Bridge Hospice, 6 Quail Run Circle, Suite 103, Salinas, CA 93907 are suggested by the family.
