Obituary of Laura Sims

Laura R. Sims, a long term resident of Salinas, suddenly passed after a short illness. She was 83 years old. Laura will be deeply missed by her daughters MaryAnn Gonzales, Linda Corral Clarkson, & Debi Ventura. Grandchildren: Yvette Gonzales, Kristine Ramos (deceased), Veronica Gonzales, Justin Ventura, Michael Ramos, Jerry Ventura, Leah Heredia, and Lacee Ventura. Great-Grandmother to Gilbert, Christopher, Hunter, Jakob, Marcus, Anthony, Justin, Madison, Aiden, Noah, Massiah, Jermiah, Aaliyah, and Altie. And her long time friend Helena Stanton. Surviving sister Alvina Loomis of Salinas and brother Tony (Carmen) Garcia of Oxnard and many nieces and nephews. Laura was a frequent visitor at “Goodwill and Savers”. She loved bargains. Her favorite place to eat was at the Home Town Buffet where she met many of her friends. Family was always important to her. For over 40 years, Christmas Eve was spent at her home with family and friends. Laura had a big heart and was always finding something special at Goodwill or Savers to give to her daughters, family and friends. A special thank you to Dr. Dhillon and Dr. Klein for their special attention they gave our mom.
