Obituary of Jesus Bernal

Jesus Valencia Bernal, 82, longtime resident of Salinas Valley, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014, in Salinas. He was born Feb. 21, 1932, in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. Jesus enjoyed his retirement, after working in agriculture as a field worker for over 45 years. He will be greatly missed by many. Jesus is survived by his wife, Socorro Bernal daughter, Alejandrina Bernal Hernandez and son-n-law, Robert T. Hernandez grandchildren, Evangelina, Jacob and Jordan Hernandez sisters Delia Rocha, Bertha Guzman and Socorro Cadena and his brother, Heraclio Bernal. Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, with a Rosary recital at 7 p.m., all at Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Road, Salinas, CA 93905. A Funeral Mass will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 22 Stone St., Salinas, CA 93901. Burial to follow services at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 18200 Damian Way, Salinas, CA 93907.
