Obituary of Paul Witner

Paul Witner passed away November 4, 2009 after a brief illness He was born in Akron Ohio and attended Heidelberg University where he played football and graduated with a degree in engineering. There, he met his wife, Barbara, the love of his life. They had four children. He was an engineer for Firestone Tire Co. in Akron Ohio. In 1967 he was transferred to Salinas, CA. When Firestone closed their Salinas plant, he was transferred to Brentwood, TN and worked for Firestone and then Bridgestone Tire Co. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara. In 2006, his children convinced him to move back to Salinas CA and then to Aptos, CA in 2008. He loved sports and played basketball, football and baseball. He loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports. He is survived by Children Edward Witner of Salinas Cheryl Waters of Salinas Phillip (Sally) Witner of Murfreesboro, TN Paula Witner of Aptos Grandchildren Jason Waters Janelle Waters Ross Witner Katelyn Moore and Lindsey Moore Daniel Gowins of Murfreesboro, TN Brothers Jack (Isabele) Witner Frank (Janet) Witner 10 nieces and nephews Private Family Services will be held. The family suggests donations be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
