Obituary of Delfina Gonzalez

Delfina Rodriguez Gonzalez, 69, of Salinas, passed away Saturday, Feb.27, 2010. She was born Dec. 27, 1940, in San Vicente Coyotepec, Puebla, Mexico. Delfina moved to Salinas in 1969 to be with her husband. Delfina lived, worked and raised her big family in Salinas. She had a big heart and always put her family before herself. Her life revolved around her kids and grandkids that filled her life with joy. She enjoyed going to casinos, sewing, and the annual trips to Mexico before her illness on the RV she named "El Mueble." She loved and respected life. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her pets. She had a green thumb and everything she planted was fruitful. Her cooking always brought the entire family together and taught her family to slow down and enjoy life. Her beliefs and values will live on with her sons and daughters. She was caring, encouraging, proud, spoke her mind, and very hardworking. The family would like to "thank" the DaVita Dialysis staff for all their help and support. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Pedro; sons, Alejandro (Alba) from Salinas, Daniel (Patricia) from Salinas, Juan from Gonzales, Santos (Irene) from Salinas, Pedro from Springdale, Ark., Jose (Olga) from San Jose, Carlos from Sacramento, and Michael (Maria) from Salinas; daughters, Ana (Leonel) from Salinas, Delfina (Vicente) from Bradley, Laura (Joaquin) from Salinas; 10 granddaughters, 21 grandsons, two grandkids on the way and three great-grandkids. Visitation: From 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, at Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Road, Salinas. Rosary: 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, at Healey Mortuary. Funeral Mass: 10am Thursday, March 4, at Christ the King Church. Burial: will take place in Coyotepec, Puebla, Mexico.
