Obituary of Irene Heffington

Irene Heffington, 94, longtime resident of Salinas valley, passed away on her birthday on June 9, 2016 in Salinas. She was born on June 9, 1922 to Joseph and Eula Cameron in Dallas, Texas. She enjoyed being a homemaker for most of her adult life, tending to her family. Irene is survived by, her daughters, Vivian Austin Velda Heffington and Darlene Heffington Puhal (Jim) son, Glen Heffington (Peggy) sister, Dorothy Skidmore 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren also survive. She is preceded in death by, husband, George S. Heffington sons, Pete Heffington and John Magnus and daughter, Gloria Gardner. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 1-9pm at Healey Mortuary 405 N. Sanborn Rd. Salinas, CA 93905. Graveside Services will take place on Thursday, June 16, 2016 11am at the Garden of Memories Cemetery 850 Abbott St. Salinas, CA 93901. In lieu of flowers, family prefers donations be made to one's favorite charity.
