Obituary of Adriano Mariano

Life Legacy Adriano passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 5, 2016. He was born in Laoag City, Philippines, attended Ilocos Norte National High School, and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Divine Word College. Adriano came to the United States, and joined the U.S. Army. He was stationed around the world, including the Presidio of San Francisco, Okinawa, Korea, Germany, and Arizona, rising the ranks to 1SG. One of his most important assignments was in Ft. Stewart, GA, where he met his future wife, Natividad. The other was in Ft. Ord near Salinas, CA, where their children Jonathan and Christopher were born and raised. After 20 years of service, Adriano retired from the Army with honors. He took on a second career of 19 years with the U.S. Postal Service, starting as a mail carrier and rising the ranks once again, eventually retiring as a postal supervisor. He is well known for his culinary specialties: smoked fish, boiled peanuts, and balut. His hobbies include gardening and playing ping-pong. Adriano is survived by his wife Natividad, their sons Jonathan (Jennifer) & Christopher, his brothers and sisters, Prudencio, Delfin, Teresa, Filemon, Marcia, Elvira, & Herman, his aunt Francisca and his favorite uncle, Crispin. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016 1-9pm with a Rosary vigil at 6pm, all at Healey Mortuary 405 N. Sanborn Rd. Salinas, CA 93905. Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, Aug. 12, 2016 10am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 22 Stone St. Salinas, CA 93901. Burial with full Military Honors to follow services at the Garden of Memories Cemetery 850 Abbott St. Salinas, CA 93901.
