Obituary of Sandra Castro

Sandra Lee Castro was born Sandra Lee Losada on August 23, 1962 in Salinas, CA to Sammy Losada and Marceline Carigo. She passed away on April 22, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was raised in Salinas, and graduated from North Salinas High School Class of ’81. She worked over 20 years in the Social Security Administration. Sandra married her high school sweetheart in September 1986 and shared 25 wonderful years. Her beautiful smile and gentle voice were as welcoming as her heart and her laughter was absolutely contagious. Sandra led an extraordinarily full life being involved in all family events, teaching hula, helping her husband run an outrigger canoe club and being the perfect football coach’s spouse. Win or lose, rain or shine my beautiful wife would always be there cheering for the kids, being a calming voice amid the chaos, a shoulder to cry on, someone to share the painful and joyous moments. She remembered every single birthday, christening, wedding and baby shower, which would be nearly impossible considering her numerous family members and friends, but her gift was her ability to make you feel special. No matter how busy, hectic, tired or ill she would always show you that you were special to her. Sandra lived her life with grace, beauty and dignity; a consumate lady. She was my best friend, a loving wife and mother and we are blessed to have shared her life. Sandra has touched so many lives and will be missed by all of us.
