Eldon Dixon

Obituary of Eldon Dixon

In the early hours of June 5, 2010, Eldon Reed Dixon quietly passed away in the loving arms of Yojiro. Through happy days and sad days, they have worked together side by side for the past thirty years in their chiropractic office in Salinas. Eldon was born on July 21, 1946 to Eldon and Jean Dixon in Provo, Utah. He was raised in a Morman community, and served 2 years in Australia as a missionary. His mother, who is an accomplished musician, instilled the beauty of music in him. Eldon loved classical music, and was a good cello player. He was known as "Dr. Reed", and has served the Salinas community through chiropractic care for 30 years. He was a man of integrity, and he shall be missed by many, including his puppies, Jean-Luc, Chanelle and Richard. He became a loving father figure to Yazmin, who faithfully worked for him for 13 years. Eldon left a poem by Mary Frye for Yojiro, who will be facing a number of trying years without his presence beside him. Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the gentle autumn's rain. When you wake in the morning bush, I am the swift uplifting rush, Of quiet in circled flight, I am the soft star that shines at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there; I did not die. "The poem shall comfort me, as well as the souls of those who were touched by him." - Yojiro. An informal gathering to Celebrate his life will be held at his clinic on Saturday, June 12 10AM - 12PM. All are invited to attend.
