Obituary of Andres Alcala

Andres "Junior" Alcala, Jr. Died May 25, 2008, unexpectedly. Born February 29, 1980 in Salinas, CA. Andres was known by his family and friends as "Junior" or "Tiny"; graduated from Salinas High School in 1998. In school, he played for the football team and was well liked by all as he was a caring gentle young man. After high school, he got a job at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and was successful in all that he set out to accomplish. He took great pride in his job and his relationships with all his family, friends, and coworkers, and he was always putting other's needs before his own. He lived at home with his parents and helped care for them. Junior loved all sports! He was an avid Lakers fan, as can be seen on his Myspace page, as well as a big time 49'ers and Cincinnati Reds fan. He loved to entertain whether it be tailgating before the game, a big family barbecue where he would cook up some wonderful carne asada,, DJ'ing for everyone with music CD's he mixed up himself, or singing at the top of his lungs to old Mexican music till the wee hours of the morning. Junior was the kindest soul on earth, and he will be missed by all who knew him. Andres, Jr. is survived by his parents Andres and Francisca Alcala his siblings Javier, Maria, Irma, Juan, Francisco, Alejandra, Lupita and their spouses. In addition, he will be missed greatly by his nieces and nephews: Nicole, Jackie, Jasmin, Robert, Kayla, Andy, Frankie, Adrian, Cesar, Evelyn, Joel, Henry and Issac. He is also survived by many cousins, aunts, uncles, and other family members here and in Mexico. The family has asked that Donations be made in the name of Irma Alexander (Sister) to a future "Andres Alcala, Jr. Scholarship Fund", to benefit high risk youth in Monterey County.
