Obituary of Dona Brackett

Family members of Dona Hardwick Brackett sadly announce her death on Monday, December 10, 2007, at the age of 88. Born in Oxford, Idaho on May 27,1919. Dona grew up and graduated from high school in the Oxford area. She relocated to the Salinas Valley at an early age where she began a long, successful career with the Pacific Telephone Company. She held various managerial positions. After thirty-five years, she retired to enjoy travel, to study and appreciate music, to spend time with her family and friends, and to give service to her church. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in several different capacities, most recently as organist. Committed to maintaining a close family , dona was an effective promoter of family reunions. She loved her home, her family, her friends, flowers, the ocean, and the mountains - the Salinas Valley. Dona is preceeded in death by her husband, Fred Brackett, who died in 1997. She is survived by her sister, Eda Howell, four nephews, thirteen nieces and numerous great nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all.
