Obituary of Scottie Reynolds

On March 15, 2008, Scottie Blake Reynolds, went home to be with the Lord, after experiencing complications from a stroke. Scottie was born September 1, 1933 in Headland, Alabama to Jack and Beatrice Reynolds. Scottie, the eldest of five children, attended elementary and high school in Neward, New Jersey. After high school, Scottie joined the U.S. Air Force, where he excelled in computer science. After his military career, Scottie moved to the west coast, first living and working in Seaside, California, and then relocating to the San Francisco Bay area. Scottie attended San Francisco State University, where he received both his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Research Psychology. His Master's thesis was published in the Journal of the American Psychological Association. While studying at San Francisco State, Scottie met his future wife, Rosemary Kolentus Reynolds, to whom he has been married for 24 years. From that union a son was born, Nelson Mandela Reynolds. Scottie was later employed by the Letterman Army Institute of Research (LAIR) in the Ocular Hazards Division. When the Presidio of San Francisco Closed, Scottie decided to stay in the bay area and began work at U.C. Berkeley as the manager of the auditory lab in the psychology department. Scottie was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Beatrice, his sisters, Patricia Reynolds and Vivian (William) Jackson and his brother, Russell (Jeanette) Reynolds. He leaves to celebrate his life his wife, Rosemary, son, Nelson, and brother, Randall (Jeanette) Reynolds, Many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. MEMORIAL SERVICES will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2008 1PM at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church located at 390 Elm Street in Seaside. Inurnment to take place at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Salinas, California In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society 1184 Monroe Street Salinas, CA 93906.
