Obituary of Victor Banda

Victor Cisneros Banda was welcomed peacefully into the loving arms of the Lord on Friday, December 7, 2007 in the presence of his wife, children and grandchildren. Victor was born April 15, 1915 in Juchipila, Zacatecas, Mexico and immigrated to the United States at the age of 22. He lived and worked in various communities in California, served honorably in the U.S. Army in 1945, and settled in Salinas in 1949. He retired as a warehouseman from Dalgety Foods in 1979 and was an active member of Christ the King Catholic Church. His greatest passion in his life was his family. He also loved tending to his garden and sharing it with family, friends and visitors. Victor made Salinas his home until 2003 when he moved to Elk Grove, California to be closer to his family. Victor is survived by his wife of 54 years, Angelina R. Banda, his son, Victor David Banda of Elk Grove, and daughters, Celia Banda-Brown of Suisun City, Anna Banda Contreras of Manteca, and Elizabeth Banda Miranda of Salinas. He is also survived by five grandchildren and many other members of his extended family in California and Mexico. His warm, loving smile and embrace will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
