Obituary of WIlliam Holmquist

Bill was born June 30, 1930 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was a graduate of the University of Nebraska, Lincoln and earned a Masters degree from University of California, Berkeley. Bill served in the US Air Force Reserve. He was employed as a CPA, retiring after a lengthy career in the produce industry. He has been a Monterey County resident since 1965. His interest was in the arts; he enjoyed the symphony, attending plays, and loved bridge. He was a life long tennis player until his health would not allow him to play. He was a long time member of Lutheran Church of the Good Sheperd of Salinas, past board member of Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital, and volunteered for Meals-on-Wheels. Bill will always remain a lifelong Cornhusker. He is survived by his daughters; Jennifer Lyn Schmeltz of King City, Kirsten Rose Holmquist of Sunnyvale, Erica Kay Holmquist of Salinas, and Johanna Marie Reveno of San Jose; son, W. Edward Holmquist of Danville; grandchildren, Andrew Seth Reveno and Benjamin James Reveno; and brother, Harold Holmquist of Lincoln, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Holmquist in 2000, and daughter, Ingrid Holmquist in 1988.
