Obituary of Elwood Killen

Elwood Martin Killen, 95, of Salinas, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2011, in Salinas. He was born February 28, 1916, in Sommerville, Ohio. Elwood was a member of The Crossroads Church in Salinas. He previously worked for many years as a custodian at the Santa Rita School District. He is survived by his daughters, Shirley (Ron) Creech of Salinas, and Jackie Vanlieu of Modesto; grandchildren, Tina Ewing of Salinas, Rhonda Bradley of Ft. Smith, AR, Sherry Adams and Teresa Thomas, both of San Jose, Marcia Sorci of Modesto, and Connie Alarcon of San Jose; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Louise Weitzle, Betty Wood, Marjorie Greer; and brother, Ken Killen. He was preceded in death by first wife, Mary Pauline Killen in 1983; second wife, Wilma Faye Killen in 1998; brother, Virgil Killen; sisters, Helen Winn and Dorothy Killen; son, James Martin Killen and his grandson, David Dean Creech. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 1, 2011 1-5pm at Healey Mortuary 405 N. Sanborn Rd. Salinas, CA 93905. Funeral Services on Friday, April 1, 2011 4pm at the Healey Mortuary Chapel. Burial to take place at the Dalton Cemetery in Dalton, Ohio.
