Obituary of Amelia Ugale

“Cindy”, as she was known to family and friends passed away Sunday June 5th, 2011 surrounded by family, after a brief illness. She was born June 3, 1963,in Salinas, the youngest of 6 brothers and sisters. She is survived by brothers Alex (Sally), Jorge (Susan), and Rocky (Janet) Ugale, sisters Luisa Bowling, and Pilar Tamie Guballa, and step-mom Dionicia Ugale. She was preceded in death by her mother Refuja (Cuca) Guzman, father Teofilo Ugale, and brother-in-law Bob Bowling. She was especially close to her nieces and nephews Angela, Ted (Terri), Jill, Sarah, Jonathan, Nick, Noel (Albert), Roque Ugale, and Matthew and Garry Bowling. Great nieces and nephews, Alyx, Adam, Analycia, Aaron, Aubrey, Aliyah, Lucas, Noah, Cayleen and Nathaniel, and numerous extended family who will feel the loss of their Auntie Cindy every day. Cindy was a kind and gentle person who was highly respected by her co-workers and peers. She worked for Orchard Supply Hardware for 28 years in Sand City, Watsonville, Gilroy, and Salinas as an Asst. Manager. Cindy loved listening to all types of music and discovering new artists to add to her immense collection of music. She was an avid Oakland A’s and Raiders fan, loved reading John Grisham and Patricia Cornwall novels, and planning activities and overnight trips for her great nieces and nephews that usually consisted of something new and fun. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2011 3-9pm with Rosary Recital and Tribute at 7pm all at Healey Mortuary 405 N. Sanborn Rd. Salinas, CA 93905. A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, June 10, 2011 10am at Madonna del Sasso Catholic Church 320 E. Laurel Dr. Salinas, CA 93906. Burial will follow Services at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery 18200 Damian Way Salinas, CA 93907. Memorial Donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society 945 S. Main St. Ste. 201 Salinas, CA 93901.
