Obituary of Hortensia Anguiano

Hortensia Anguiano passed away on Wednesday morning, July 27,2011, in the presence of her loving family. Even though the music has softened in Salinas, she is now dancing with the stars in heaven. She was 86. Hortensia was born in San Juan Bautista, CA. on April 26, 1925 to Reyes and Maria Canales. Hortensia is preceded in death by her parents-Reyes and Maria Canales, her first husband Agustin Navarro, her grandson Jorge Rivera Jr., and her great-grandson EJ Trevino. Hortensia worked for many years at Kress (Five & Dime) and Jack’s Department Store in Salinas during the 60‘s. She was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary League. She was also a member of St Theodores Catholic Church in Gonzales, CA. The family would like to thank her wonderful doctors: Dr's. Dicus, Krishna, Carillo, & Robert Revers. We would also like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the caring personnel at Davida Dialysis Center, and especially the nursing staff of SVMH 3rd floor. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Cristino Anguiano of Salinas. Hortensia leaves behind her children: 2 sons- George Palomino(Lucy) & Agustin Navarro(Teri), and 5 daughters-Louisa Beltran, Mary Bermudez(Ron), Flora Navarro, Virginia Rivera(Jorge), and Lupe Marie Hernandez(Paul). Her children blessed her with 21 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. She is further survived by a large family of nieces and nephews and her sisters Jovita Cabatu and Esther Ontiveras(Manuel). Visitation will be held on Monday, August 1, 2011 1pm-9pm with a Rosary Recital at 7pm all at Healey Mortuary 405 N. Sanborn Rd. Salinas, CA, 93905. A Celebration Mass will take place on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 11am at Madonna Del Sasso Church 320 E. Laurel Dr. Salinas, CA, 93906.
