Obituary of Jose Garcia Lopez

Jose Luis Garcia Lopez, 57, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 8, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. He faced his battle with cancer with courage and without complaint. Jose Luis was born on March 24, 1954 to Jesus and Monica Garcia. Originally from Ejido El Serrano, Municipio de Guasave, Sinaloa, Mexico, he had resided in Salinas for the past 35 years. Jose Luis worked in the strawberry fields of the Salinas Valley for the majority of his life. He was a hard-working man that took care of his family and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to those in need. Jose Luis loved spending time with his family, working on repairs around his home, working on his cars, listening to Corridos and Tambora music, and especially looking out for his 5 precious grandchildren, who will never forget him as their loving "Ito". Jose Luis is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Carmen Garcia, as well as his loving children; Nadia (Fernando) Amador of Soledad, Jose Luis, Jr. and Janneli Garcia of Salinas; grandchildren, Miguel, Arianna, Miranda "Wiggles", Genesis and Fernando, Jr; 12 loving brothers, sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesus Garcia and his nephew, Johnny Garcia. A Visitation will be held today, November 11, 2011 1-9pm with a Rosary Recital 7pm all at the Healey Mortuary 405 N. Sanborn Rd. Salinas, CA 93905. A Mass will take place on Saturday, November 12, 2011 12:30pm at St. Theodore's Catholic Church 125 Center St. Gonzales, CA 93926. Burial to follow services at the Garden of Memories Cemetery 850 Abbott St. Salinas, CA 93901.
