Obituary of Domonic Marquez

Domonic "Lalo" Marquez, 81, of Castroville, CA, passed away January 19, 2009, at Menlo Park Veteran's Medical Center. He was born December 6, 1927, in Gonzalez, CA. He graduated from Gonzalez High and married his sweetheart Mary Jimenez Marquez on April 30, 1952, in Salinas. He joined the U.S. Army at the end of WWII and served in Korean War, 182nd/187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team. U.S. Army as a paratrooper in the 1950s. After his discharge, he was employed by Silas B. Hayes hospital in Fort Ord as a Dietitian for 20 years. Mr. Marquez was a member of the Disabled American Veterans of Foreign wars. He was a very loving, caring man, and lived a very ADVENTUROUS full life. To Mary, The most understandable woman I love & hope to make her my "Wife" & may God take care of you and may our love last till I get back. Love & Kisses Lalo He is survived by his wife of 57 years Mary Marquez, children Patricia Diaz (Leo), Domonic Marquez Jr., Angie Gandara (Jorge), and Lisa Marquez. Grandchildren Tracy Diaz, Marcos Diaz, Jorgito Gandara, Natalia Gandara, Matthew Diaz, and Domonic Diaz-Marquez. Preceded in death: his daughter, Valerie Marquez.
