Obituary of Melecio Sardina

Melecio Mendoza Sardina, 59, longtime resident of Salinas, passed away on August 15, 2012 in Salinas. He was born on December 10, 1952 in Santa Catalina, Philippines. Melecio immigrated to the United States in 1970. He initially lived in Delano, CA and then moved to Salinas in 1981. H He previously worked at Natividad Medical Center as a Housekeeper for over 9 years. His hobbies included; fishing, building anything, watching sports, and most of all, playing at the Casinos (especially near his other house in Lemoore, CA). Melecio was a loving, caring, and kind-hearted husband, dad, and grandpa. He loved spending time with his wife, kids, and grandkids. He is survived by his wife, Leticia Sardina daughter, Melissa and Ed Lopez sons, Cristopher and Melgen Sardina grandkids, Mateo, Arissa, and Eliza mother, Inocencia Sardina sister, Loreta Patague. He is preceded in death by his father, Generoso Sardina sister, Marcelina Jovenal brother, Domingo Sardina. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2012 1-9pm with a Rosary recital at 7pm, all at Healey Mortuary 405 N. Sanborn Rd. Salinas, CA 93905. A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, August 24, 2012 3pm at Madonna del Sasso Catholic Church 320 E. Laurel Drive Salinas, CA 93906. Burial on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 10am at the Garden of Memories Cemetery 850 Abbott St. Salinas, CA 93901.
