Obituary of Joe Olvera
Joe Manuel Olvera, 72, longtime resident of Salinas, passed away on October 31, 2012 in Salinas. He was born on December 11, 1939 in Santa Paula, CA.
Joe proudly served in the U.S. National Guard prior to his career at Firestone Tires in Salinas for 16 years and then as a Correctional Officer at CTF-Soledad for over 20 years. Joe loved to garden, both at home and at CTF; where he earned an award in horticulture. He also had a passion for raising farm animals.
He is survived by

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 1-9pm with a Rosary recital at 7pm, all at Healey Mortuary 405 N. Sanborn Rd. Salinas, CA 93905.
A Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 10am at Madonna del Sasso Catholic Church 320 E. Laurel Dr. Salinas, CA 93906.
Burial with Military Honors will follow Mass at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery 18200 Damian Way Salinas, CA 93907.
