Obituary of Eduardo Galindo

Eduardo "Eddie" Galindo, Jr. 63, of Salinas, lost his battle with a lengthy illness and passed away peacefully on April 15, 2009. He was the son of Eduardo L. and Luisa Galindo who preceded him in death, along with his beloved sister, Annie, who passed away in 2006. He was born in Texas, he spent most of his life in Salinas. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, joining in April of 1964. In 1965, he served in Vietnam with Hotel Company, Second Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division. He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds he received in combat and was honorably discharged in April, 1968. He worked in electronics industry for many years and later in life, was a skillful handyman. He could fix anything he set out to. "Uncle Eddie" loved his family very much and was equally loved by them. He was especially fond of his nieces and nephews. He was quick to lend a helping hand to his family and everyone in need. Eddie had a wonderful sense of humor and could strike up a conversation on any topic! Our loving brother, uncle, brother-in-law, great-uncle and godfather, will be greatly missed. He is survived by sisters Adeline and John Garcia of Billings, Montana Alice Galindo of Salinas brothers Manuel and Annelore Galindo of San Pablo Guadalupe and Ruth Galindo of Salinas 11 nieces and nephews along with numerous great-nieces and nephews, and so many friends. A Private Celebration of Life will be held by the family.
