Obituary of Dolores Smith

Dolores Carnation "Rita" Smith, 78, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 4, 2013, at home in Prunedale. Born January 1, 1935 in Carmel, Dolores was a lifelong resident of Monterey County, where she resided in Seaside, then later moved to Prunedale. Dolores was a beautiful, caring, giving, thoughtful, patient, kind and generous strong mother of 12 children, who always showed unconditional love. She had a smile and eyes that lit up the room. Dolores loved music, especially the Bee Gees, dancing, laughing and watching horror movies. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and remembered for her strength and lively spirit. Your memory will live on in our hearts forever. Dolores is survived by her daughters, Nancy, Josephine, Rebecca, Monica and Wendy; sons, Johnny, Michael, Stephen and Lorenzo Smith; her aunt, Dolores Soto; her sisters, Carmen, Roseanne and Bobbie; 19 loving grandchildren and 25 beautiful great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Jack Smith; her parents, Antonio and Margaret Soto; brother, Sonny Soto; and her daughter, Erica Smith. At family's request, no services will be held. Cremation has taken place.
