Obituary of Olga "Irene" Garza

Olga “Irene” Garza (Fernandez) died in her home on January 7, 2020 in Salinas, CA due to complications from cancer.  She was 69.

Irene was born on March 27, 1950 in Salinas, CA to her parents Angel and Mary Fernandez.  She graduated from Alisal High School.

Irene is survived by her partner Jesus Santoyo, her daughters Monica Garza-Garcia (Lorenzo Garcia), Veronica Garza (Tomas Tavares), and her sons Michael Garza and Jesus “Jesse” Santoyo Jr.. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Lorenzo Garcia Jr. (Viviana Gama), Angel R. Garcia (Lycia Gutierrez), Anthony Garcia (Felicia Santana), Tomas Tavares Jr. and Karina Tavares.  She is also survived by great grandchildren: Eljiah D. Garcia, Dalila A. Garcia, Angel J. Garcia, Natalie R. Garcia, Marybella A. Mexicano and Layla A. Franco.  

Irene is also survived by her siblings: Angie Molina, Laura Orozco, Lily Molina (Joe), Ernestina Hernandez (Gil), Trini Fernandez and John Fernandez.

A memorial will be held at St. Mary’s of Nativity Church (424 Towt St., Salinas, CA) at 11:00am on Monday, January 13, 2020.
